Kaitie Wade
A dynamic, powerful voice. A captivating persona. Raw talent. A truly unique sound that needs to be heard.
She is far from home, but getting closer to her dream. A country-pop singer, songwriter, performer, and recording artist out of Seattle, Washington, Kaitie Wade recognized her passion for music at a young age – and has been marching toward it ever since.
At age 17, the tall, long-haired brunette took a leap of faith across the country to where she currently resides – in the heart of country music – Nashville, Tennessee. It is there that the vivacious 22-year-old wrote, recorded, and released her debut single and music video, “Tail Lights”, in 2015. Since it’s release, Wade has received an incredible amount of positive feedback from new fans and industry executives.
This go-getter is currently preparing for the release of her debut EP, "Starts With a Song", coming April 28th, 2017. This record contains five songs she has written both solo and in collaboration with other Nashville artists. The lead single, "Don't Wanna Miss" was successfully released on March 21, 2017, and has already received radio spins. Kaitie has performed a wide range of shows including Nashville's most famous honkey tonks, showcases, writers rounds, and even a few branches of a national tour (Derryl Perry Band). Wade was recognized as "featured artist" by Next Star Now and "Superstar In The Making" by Hillbilly Express Radio.
Kaitie, determined to further master her craft, recently received her Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance at Belmont University, where she graduated in 2016. On top of an incredibly time-consuming and demanding schedule including a consistent overload of courses and rehearsals, Kaitie somehow found time to commit to her music career outside of school. This go-getter is currently dedicating her time to releasing her debut EP, to be released April 28th, 2017. Her debut EP, "Starts With a Song", contains five songs she has written both solo and in collaboration with other Nashville artists. This fun-loving artist has been asked to sing background vocals both live and in studio for multiple independent artists. She has also had many live performances around Nashville – from writer’s rounds at venues like the legendary Douglas Corner Café to pumping up the crowds on the stages of Broadway. She also is currently joining the Derryl Perry Band for multiple branches of their national tour.
Unlike some artists in Nashville, the up-and-coming singer has truly started from scratch. She had no prior training (before college), no band, no manager, and absolutely no contacts or connections in Nashville whatsoever. “The only resources I have, are an unbreakable passion for music and a sheer drive to make my dream a reality,” the strong-willed country singer shares, “It is so important to not only take any opportunity presented to you, but also get out there and make your own opportunities.” And that is exactly what she is doing.
Wade had a love for music before she could even form complete sentences. Born about an hour south of Seattle, Kaitie spent her first few years of life crawling up to any raised platform to “perform” for anyone who would listen. Her parents would consistently play “sing along” cassette tapes, and she never failed to belt to them as loud as she could. She wowed the audience in her elementary talent shows, and the rest was history. Growing up in church, Kaitie was strongly influenced by worship music, and at only 14 began worship leading in front of her church. Along with this church music influence, her mother often played Shania Twain and Faith Hill, and her father loved Bon Jovi. In junior high and high school, she took on influences from pop and R&B music as well. She fell in love with country music after hearing Lady Antebellum’s first album, followed by Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, and more.
Eventually, all of these influences evolved into Kaitie’s incredibly unique style – a contemporary country sound with pop flare and a classic rock edge. The down-to-earth singer strives to have an effect on listeners through her music – whether it be relating to real life experiences or simply getting fans dancing on their feet. Wade explains, “I just want to write about real experiences. I want people to know they are not alone in whatever they are going through. I want to bring a light to this industry.”
And she will do just that. With her completion of her Bachelor of Music
, multiple live performances and studio opportunities, and the anticipation of releasing her first EP, the excited country singer-songwriter is about to truly hit the ground running. With a successful release and extremely positive feedback from her debut single and music video, fans can’t wait to see what else the unique and talented singer has in store for the near future. With a phenomenal talent, captivating persona, and unbreakable determination, there is no question that Kaitie Wade is well on her way to making her dreams a reality.
